AUSTRALIA: ACMA Open Public Consultations (Radiocommunication Regulation, Low Interference Potential Devices, and 2 GHz Spectrum Licensing)

The Australian Communication and Media Authority has opened the 3 following public consultations:

Consultation 35/2022 – New arrangements for low interference potential devices: Proposed new arrangements for radiocommunications receivers communicating with satellites in the 915–928 MHz and 2400–2483.5 MHz bands, frequency-hopping radiocommunications transmitters in the 5925–6425 MHz band, and radio local area network (RLAN) radiocommunications transmitters in the 5150–5250 MHz band.

Consultation 37/2022 – Proposed changes to radiocommunications equipment regulation: Proposed to include radiocommunications mandatory technical standards and labeling requirements into the Radiocommunications Equipment (General Equipment Rules). Following is a summary of the proposed changes:

  1. Standards:
  1. Remaking the determination of the protected symbol to remove the A-Tick and C-Tick marks as protected symbols.
  2. Amending the EME test method in the General Equipment Rules to adopt IEC/IEEE 63195-1:2022 and IEC/IEEE 63195-2:2022.

Consultation 38/2022 – Review of 2 GHz spectrum licensing technical framework: Proposed changes in the 2 GHz band spectrum licenses conditions focused on the unwanted emissions in the frequency range 2100–2110 MHz.Open until December 16th, 2022
