AUSTRALIA: ACMA Discusses 5G Possibility

Back

October 20, 2016: The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) published on its website a discussion paper regarding the future use of the 1.5GHz and 3.6GHz bands in the country. The intention of the paper is to review the possible future uses for the 1427MHz – 1518MHz band (1.5GHz) and the 3575MHz – 3700MHz bands (3.6MHz), taking into account that the authority wants to destine those band to Mobile Broad Band services. The discussion includes the possible use of the 5G technologies, and the paper has specific questions for interested parties. The deadline to send comments to the authority regarding this topic is November 25, 2016.
