ACMA is considering to further progress one or more mmWave bands in Australia. “Given the increasing interest both domestically and internationally, and the limited incumbency issues in mmWave bands, this event, along with its consultation process, are proposed to be used to assist in streamlining the early consideration of mmWave spectrum for 5G use.” ACMA has hosted the Spectrum tune-up: Spectrum for 5G broadband in mmWave bands event that took place during September 5th and will use submissions obtained from the event as well as the feedback received from the Five-year Spectrum Outlook (FYSO), which provides annual overviews of ACMA’s spectrum management priorities and issues to make a decision whether to move forward with more mmWave bands.
Submissions will close on October 20, 2017.
