ARGENTINA: The Argentinean Commerce Secretary Published the Resolution #171/2016

On July 4, 2016, the Argentinean Ministry of Production, through its Commerce Secretary, published resolution # 171/2016 which replaces resolution # 508/2015 in order to improve the compliance process for electrical-electronic products. From now on, products that have to fulfill the local requirements need to implement changes only in the importer related data; the QR code requirements and the identification of products with external power supply are withdrawn; the certification surveillance, now known as product surveillance remains valid;  the Mark ok Conformity Scheme was modified, and depending on the product, two different deadlines were established to start complying with the new certification requirements. The first important date is August 4, 2016, from there on products like transforms for lamps must be certified under the mentioned scheme; the other important date is July 5, 2017, which products such as: power supplies, external chargers, TV receptors, monitors and all-in-one computers must be certified under the scheme too.
