On December 5th, 2023, the Regulator ENACOM published a document called Resolution 2097/2023, which updates the current Technical Standard ENACOM-Q2-61.03 to add the 5G NR operation on 3300-3700MHz allocated band, and allows the ENACOM Homologation of 5G devices. The new version V23.1 has been in force since December 5th, 2023 for cellular devices 2G/3G/4G/5G.
Apart from the new updated version of the Standard, it also brings some clarification points to its transition to have mandatory In-Country tests by 90 calendar days from the publication of this Resolution (So only from March 4th 2024 this will be mandatory), and additional to this, there is also a topic regarding the accreditation of 2 labs or more to maintain this mandatory In-Country testing requirement. Until this requirement is achieved, ENACOM will allow the homologation leveraging foreign RF reports and certificates (FCC/CE/ANATEL, etc) for imported devices.
