Back

Following the approval of the GENERAL CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK described by Resolution No. 237. Argentina has released the  technical and procedural specifications for the Conformity assessment named Disposición 1/2024

Manufacturers and importers currently using a safety seal may continue doing so or switch to the new “MARCADO DE CONFORMIDAD” until the deadline specified in Article 4 of Resolution 237/2024. Once mandatory, all products under Technical Regulations (RTs) must comply.

The most impactful points are described below:

Marking and Documentation Specifications:

*Manufacturers/Importers: Ensure compliance, prepare declarations, and affix markings. Importers modifying products assume manufacturer responsibilities.

*Authorized Representatives: Represent foreign manufacturers but cannot sign declarations or apply markings.

*Conformity Assessment Bodies (OECs): Report accreditation details and test results to the National Directorate of Technical Regulations (DNRT).

Updated Procedures:
The document outlines lab testing, certification, inspection, and compliance control, including verification through sample testing. Procedures for certificate transfer or extension are also described in the Disposición 1/2024..

Digital Platform:
All processes will be managed via the “Plataforma de trámites a distancia” (TAD).
