A new guideline for labeling equipment certified by the CNC in Argentina was issued on February 4, 2015.
Key points:
- The resolution will be enforced on May 4, 2015.
- All new equipment will have to bear the CNC mark and number following instructions below, or will be considered as a non-registered device.
- The label will consist of the CNC mark and number, and must be chosen from one of the available options (please refer to attachments).
- When the aspect or nature of the product does not allow the use of the CNC mark; the abbreviated format should be used. That is, the legend “CNC ID:”followed by the Homologation Number. Characteristics: Legend – Century Gothic Bold; Homologation Number – Arial font. Minimum font size of entire phrase must be 3 points.
- If marking the product is not possible for any reason; the CNC label and Homologation number should be printed on the User Manual and package.
- In case of Modular Equipment, each module should be marked with its own CNC label and Homologation Number. The external part of the equipment that contains the module should be marked referencing that module. This external label should have the Legend “Contiene Modulo CNC ID:”Characteristics: Legend for CNC: Century Gothic Bold; Other information: Arialfont. Minimum font size should be 3 points.
- A device containing several Modules should include marking information for each module.
- Electronic Marking should be done on the display of the device and adjust to the specifications of the CNC. The marking should allow for quick access and the User Manual should explain how to find the electronic mark. Also, the User Manual and package should be printed with the CNC mark.
- The CNC label should be printed in a way that guarantees the visibility of the mark for the lifetime of the product.
- Draft of the CNC Identification of the product will be required for the application.
- For the certificate Renewal, a picture of the equipment displaying the CNC label will be required, according to the instructions above.
- Homologation Number may be issued in different formats by the CNC, forexample: x-xxx, x-xxxx, xx-xxxx, etc.
