On August 2nd, 2016, the Argentinean National Communications Entity (ENACOM) published on its official gazette, resolution 6038/2016, which approves the technical norm ENACOM-Q2-60.14 V16.1 “Low Power Devices”. This new regulation replaces the norm CNC-Q2-60.14 V12.1, but is important to clarify that ENACOM will continue accepting test reports under the CNC-Q2-60.14 V12.1 normative for the next 180 days. The changes follows the need for an actualization of the low power devices regulation, taking into account that the frequency bands allocation for the use of this type of equipment was modified on February of 2016. Furthermore, ENACOM wants to make the testing process more efficient by reducing the number of samples and procedures. In terms of samples, the new regulation asks the applicant for at least one representative sample regarding functioning and production model, which must be presented with the necessary technical documentation to allow the tests. The sample should be able to operate in its minimum and maximum frequencies provided for the model, however, if the signal could not be adjusted during the test, the applicant will have to present two samples; one adjusted in the minimum signal and the other in the maximum signal.
