As informed last week, and considering the changes to be implemented by the newly elected Argentinian government, the telecommunications entities and media legislation of this country are experiencing a radical change. The new Telecommunications Minister, Oscar Aguad, announced on December 23rd the creation of ENACOM, a new regulator that will combine the functions of AFSCA (Autoridad Federal de Servicios de Comunicación Audiovisual) and AFTIC (Autoridad Federal de Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones). The new regulator will be created through a Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU). However, the changes might take a long time to be implemented.
