Angola Introduces New Steps to Secure Type Approval System

On June 12, 2025, Angola’s Instituto Angolano das Comunicações (INACOM) introduced a new online platform for telecom-related services. This move is part of its plan to modernize regulatory operations. Furthermore, the platform improves transparency and public access to type approval processes.

In addition to launching the Balcão Virtual system, INACOM also issued a directive requiring all users to re-register their profiles. This decision follows a technical error that disrupted the submission of several approval applications.

Mandatory Re-Registration and Resubmission of Applications

In a communication released on June 27, 2025, INACOM explained that some pending applications were not properly recorded. As a result, the authority has instructed all affected parties to resubmit their documents via the new portal.

Additionally, all platform users must re-register their profiles to retain access. This step is described as mandatory and is essential to ensure data accuracy and system security.

Enhancing Document Security and Service Transparency

By implementing these updates, INACOM seeks to improve the quality and security of telecom regulation. The platform now includes several tools designed to support this goal:

Moreover, INACOM emphasizes that these changes will help reduce document fraud and unauthorized submissions.

Digital Reform Aligned with Public Service Goals

According to the Minister of Telecommunications, the digital platform forms part of Angola’s wider public sector modernization agenda. Therefore, INACOM’s efforts are not limited to technical improvements. They also reflect a policy commitment to deliver transparent, secure, and citizen-focused services.
