ALGERIA: ARPT Will Launch a 4G Tender

The Algerian Regulatory Authority for Post and Telecommunications (Autorité de régulation de la poste et des télécommunications, ARPT) is ready to launch on January 7th a 4G tender. The bidders will be announced on may 17th and the 4G services for commercial use are expected for the last quarter of 2016. The conditions of the tender, says the Minister of Post, Information Technology and Communication, Imane Houda Feraoun, require that the companies provide a 10% of minimum coverage in the first four years, and an expansion to the south of the country within three years.
