Back

On April 10, 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Paraguay (MIC) issued Decree No. 6832/2017 covering mobile devices for cellular networks, including its parts and accessories. It establishes the registry and mandatory certification of mobile or portable telephones with the intend to protect consumer rights and prevent deceptive uses of motherboards for cellular devices. The National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL) also requires prior importation licenses, which establishes the “prior non-automatic licensing regime,” for the devices, its accessories, and electronic boards.
