Mexico’s Senate Confirms CRT Commissioners, Launching New Telecom Era

Mexico’s regulatory landscape for telecommunications has entered a new chapter. On October 14, 2025, the Senate officially ratified the five members of the Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones (CRT), fulfilling a pivotal step in implementing the 2025 Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law. This law replaces the now-defunct Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT), with the CRT as the new regulatory authority.
