Mexico IFT-017-2023: Compliance Update on VBW

Mexico’s Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has refined its compliance framework by issuing an Errata for Mexico IFT-017-2023. This regulation establishes specifications for radio devices utilizing digital modulation across various frequency bands.

On April 2, 2025, the IFT modified Section 5.7.2, revising the Video Bandwidth (VBW) requirement for the 5725 MHz – 5850 MHz band to “≥ 3 x RBW”. This adjustment ensures greater technical accuracy and aligns with international compliance standards.

Enforcement & Next Steps

The revised IFT-017-2023 regulation takes effect on November 6, 2025. Manufacturers and testing laboratories should take immediate action to meet the updated compliance requirements. Early preparation will help avoid potential delays in market access.
