Serbia: RATEL Ceases Conformity Assessments for Radio Equipment

As of January 1, 2025, RATEL ceased to perform conformity assessments for radio equipment, in line with Article 32, paragraph 4 of the Regulation on Radio Equipment. Requests for conformity assessment and issuance of Certificates of Conformity submitted by December 31, 2024, will be processed according to the Regulation on Radio Equipment and RATEL’s established procedures.

Furthermore, Until the completion of the designation procedure in accordance with the Regulation on Radio Equipment, the tasks of assessing the conformity of radio equipment and issuing conformity certificates shall continue to be performed by conformity assessment bodies, which have been designated for the purpose of assessing conformity in accordance with the Regulation on Radio Equipment and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, No. 11/12) and which have submitted a request for designation to the competent authority in accordance with the provision of Article 32, paragraph 3 of the Regulation on Radio Equipment.

RATEL will instead focus on expert supervision of compliance with technical requirements for radio equipment, as stipulated by Article 161 of the Law on Electronic Communications and related regulations, effective January 1, 2025.
