The National Public Services Authority (ASEP) of Panama has initiated Public Consultation No. L11-24 to gather feedback on proposed modifications to the National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF). This consultation aims to update the allocation of frequency bands, particularly designating the 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz bands for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT); the 3600-3800 MHz band for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA); and 6 GHz band (5925 to 7125 MHz) designated as an unlicensed band exclusively for indoor use
These proposed changes could impact product certification processes and market access for telecommunications equipment in Panama. Manufacturers and compliance experts should review the updated frequency allocations to ensure their products meet the new standards, facilitating timely entry into the market.
The consultation period for submitting comments will conclude on October 31, 2024. Comments must be submitted in writing or via email to ASEP.
