Malaysia: SIRIM announces the extension of Interim Type Approval for IPv6 Equipment: Key Updates

Back

The interim Type Approval for IPv6 cellular equipment without WiFi interfaces and IPv6 equipment over other mediums (excluding Ethernet LAN) has been extended for one year, effective from July 10, 2024. This extension affects the validity of new applications and renewals for Certificates of Conformity (CoC), which will now have a maximum validity of one year.

During this period, applicants must conduct testing in accredited or approved laboratories and submit the results for evaluation by SIRIM. Compliance with IPv6 requirements is necessary for full approval. No changes to spectrum allocations or specific technical standards are mentioned, but adherence to these interim requirements is critical for market access.
