European Union: publishes the Commission Notice Guidance for the interpretation of the Common Charger Directive

On May 7th, the European Union published through the Official Journal of the European Union, the commission notice C/2024/2997 which aims to communicate the Guidance for the interpretation of the Common Charger Directive. 

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on the new provisions introduced by the Common Charger Directive, which amends the RED. It includes a summary and a Q&A section to enhance understanding and ensure uniform application of these provisions. This document is intended for Member States and other stakeholders, such as trade and consumer associations, standardization bodies, manufacturers, importers, distributors, conformity assessment bodies, and trade unions. It is based on consultations with interested parties.
