The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced the allocation of the 6 GHz spectrum band for unlicensed RLAN (Radio Local Area Network) operation in Pakistan. This move positions Pakistan as a regional leader in adopting next-generation Wi-Fi technology, joining a select group of countries in Asia Pacific to unlock the potential of Wi-Fi 6E.

This initiative aligns with the government’s vision of “Digital Pakistan” by promoting digital innovation and fostering a more inclusive digital economy. 

The technical parameters are yet to be defined by the authority.
