China: MIIT published the Radio Management Regulations for RFID Equipment in the 900MHz Band.

Back

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has issued new regulations governing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) equipment operating in the 900MHz frequency band, aiming to enhance spectrum efficiency and maintain airspace order. The move, outlined in the Ministry’s No. 76 notice, seeks to streamline the management of RFID technology while preventing interference with other communication systems. In summary:

1. RFID equipment operating within the 920-925MHz frequency band must adhere to the technical requirements outlined in the regulations. The 840-845MHz frequency band in the original regulations is no longer retained.

2. RFID equipment is necessary to get an SRRC certificate, but it is not necessary to obtain a radio station license. When the 920-925MHz band RFID equipment is set within the minimum horizontal distance of 33 meters from the centre line of the railway track, it should be agreed upon by the National Railway Administration or the Regional Railway Supervision Administration.

3. Users of RFID equipment must ensure their operations do not interfere with other legal radio stations. In cases of harmful interference, immediate cessation and remedial actions are required to mitigate disruptions.

Technical requirements:

1. The relevant frequency band stray emission limits are adjusted.

2. Add a new receiver blocking limit to improve the anti-interference ability of RFID equipment.

This regulation will come into effect on November 1, 2024
