The Telecommunications Authority in Nicaragua (TELCOR) published Administrative Agreement No. 005-2021 for the authorization of Short Range and Long Range Devices (LPWAN), repealing the old regulation Nº 004-2007.
The main changes are:
- To allow the importation and commercialization of SRDs and LPWANs in the 915 – 928 MHz band, on a shared basis and secondary attribution after obtaining the corresponding Certificate of Homologation.
- To adopt the most recent versions of the ITU Reports ITU-R SM.2153 and ITU-R SM.2423 as the main source of consultation and reference for the authorization and establishment of operation of SRDs and LPWANs, while TELCOR issues the respective national regulations.
In addition, the authority has confirmed via email that the 865 and 868 MHz frequency band is allowed for RFID use in addition to the 915 a 928 MHz band.
