The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) published the guidance for 3G devices that support 2G, 4G, and/or 5G, according to the ends of the 3G network. The main aspect to be considered are:
Renewal of Existing Certificate of Compliance (CoC)
– The existing CoC can be renewed without any changes, maintaining the 3G feature information as per the existing CoC.
New Type Approval
– Voluntarily can be chosen to include the 3G feature on the CoC.
– It’s required to submit the related test report as specified in the Technical Code SKMM WTS IMT-MT and subjects to an evaluation.
The implementation took effect on January 1st, 2022
