On May 15th, 2019 the Brazilian Board of National Telecommunication Agency (ANATEL) approved the allocation and regulation of the use conditions of the 2.3 GHz and 3.5 GHz radio frequency bands. The two tracks, which will be embedded by the Agency, are key to the implementation of the fifth-generation technology (5G).
According to Anatel’s president, Leonardo de Morais, the allocation of the two frequency bands will be extremely important for the system and the decision will allow the provision of more capacity for the development of 5G in Brazil. “The approval of these two matters is a step important for the bidding process in which we have worked so that the national interest is contemplated,” said Morais.
