Back

On May 24, 2018, the Department of Innovation, Sciences and Economic Development of Canada (ISED) updated procedure CB-O2 (Issue 8) to specify the recognition criteria used by the department for the recognition of Canadian and foreign entities as certification bodies (CBs), and also the document REC-LAB (Issue 6) regarding procedures for the recognition of Foreign Testing Laboratories.

The main changes in procedure CB-02 are that now it will include in its scope the terms of Mutual Recognition Agreements/Arrangements (MRAs) for the recognition of certification bodies. This regulation applies to all certification bodies of radio apparatus, including radio terminal equipment with a radio interface.

On the other side, document REC-LAB modifies the procedure of Recognition of Foreign Testing Laboratories according to standards of Mutual Recognition and included is the criteria for recognition, the accredited testing laboratory recognition procedure, and also the procedure to retain the recognition.
