SOUTH AFRICA: ICASA and SABS Revise Issuance of CoC for EMI/EMC

On September 27th, 2017, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) and the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) lodged a notification with the World Trade Organization (WTO). 

According to the notification, it is to”revise the conformity assessment process for the issuance of Certificates of Compliance (CoC) for EMI/EMC to manufacturers and importers of electrical and electronic products.” 

The goal is to ensure that technical regulations, standards, testing and certification procedures do not create unnecessary obstacles for trade.
